On Thurs 17th January, the Department for Education and the National Apprenticeship Service launched their 2019 campaign for apprenticeships, 'Fire It Up'.

The aims behind this new movement focus on trying to change the way apprenticeships are perceived and make them look more appealing to those who only thought of them prior to this launch, as a '2nd best' option.

Secretary of State for Education, Damian Hinds also stated that the DfE wants parents, schools and colleges to make sure apprenticeships are being promoted alongside more traditional academic routes.
